Newcastle's Hit the North Festival postponed to new October date

Hit the North Festival has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Newcastle's one-day, multi-venue music festival is now set to go ahead in October.

Organisers SSD Concerts have today confirmed that Hit the North, initially set to take place in Newcastle on Sunday May 3, has now been rescheduled to Sunday October 18. Pale Waves and indie icon Tim Burgess have joined the bill, which also features Australian indie outfit DMA's, The Amazons, and Fickle Friends.

SSD says it has worked hard to retain as much of the line-up as possible in challenging circumstances.

Organiser Steve Davis says: “In these difficult times for all of us, let alone the hospitality and events industry, I’m proud of our staff for managing to reschedule the vast majority of the line-up. I am really excited for this year's Hit the North Festival and once again, I thank you all for your support.

“It’s amazing to see all of the agents and artists support the event and hopefully we can all be together to celebrate defeating this terrible virus in October.”

The likes of Metronomy, Jungle, Sam Fender, Shame, Peace, The Horrors and Circa Waves have performed at Hit the North Festival in previous years.
