intu Eldon Square is always busy no matter what time of day or day of the week it is.
But if you were in the vicinity of the famous Newcastle shopping centre on Tuesday night you'd have noticed it was particularly bustling.
And unlike a normal shopping day, there were DJs and musicians in a number of shops and in the mall.
The reason why? Eldon Square's Student Shopping Night. The event was big enough last time it happened but organisers claim that Tuesday's was the biggest yet.

Over 70 of Eldon Square stores such as All Saints, New Look and Levi’s took part, as well as restaurants such as Tapas Revolution who offered as much as 50% off the full bill and PizzaStorm giving 20% off, with every fifth person in the queue receiving their pizza for free!
For the first time, retail brand John Lewis & Partners also took part, offering a 10% discount across the store.

There were in-store treatments to take advantage of too with live demonstrations of Dolls Lashes in Topshop and free haircuts from Kobe in Topman.
Sticking with the beauty theme, Monki, offered a full set of gel nails from Gosforth’s bespoke nail artists Skullen Nail Design, which were free with any purchase in-store.
intu Eldon Square’s charity of the year for 2019, Tyneside and Northumberland MIND was also at the event to raise awareness of mental health amongst the student community with its very own magician who has used magic to combat his own mental health challenges.
Phil Steele, general manager at intu Eldon Square, said: “We wanted to to give Newcastle’s student population a night to remember with some brilliant discounts and deals."
