A newcomer to the Newcastle restaurant scene is taking on its rivals and raising the stakes with a special deal to both celebrate its opening and tempt new customers.
The Bar + Block Steakhouse in Newgate Street - which has been proving a hit since its December opening with its menu featuring premium beef - is currently offering 40% off its main meals.
The restaurant chain, which occupies the ground floor of the Premier Inn in the former Co-op building, has brought a whole new look to the listed location with a stylish interior including touches of copper; reclaimed wood giving a rustic feel and contemporary artwork - plus the brand's signature neon cow.
Boasting a butcher’s table and an open kitchen, the Bar + Block sources its hand-cut steaks from British breed cattle which are reared in South America while its all-day dining options also include burgers, fish and chips and grazing plates.
There are vegan and vegetarian dishes on the menu too, including chilli non-carne, which is served with tortilla chips, smashed avocado and tomato salsa, and a vegetable and burrata burger with fries.
To take advantage of the 40% discount on all mains, which will be available at the Newcastle branch until January 31, customers just need to sign up online here to receive a voucher and secure a booking.
