Newcastle refuse to alter stance on Jarrod Bowen despite claims he 'wants United move'

Newcastle United have not been tempted to get involved in the bidding war for Hull's Jarrod Bowen - despite strong claims that the 23-year-old now wants a move to St James' Park.

But United chiefs are sticking to their belief that the majority of their work in the January window is now done.

Bruce stated this morning that he was happy to go with the forwards he already has at his disposal after a late move for Olivier Giroud collapsed yesterday.

Bowen, who West Ham have placed a £20million deal on the table for, is ready to quit the Tigers.

Bruce had said today: "If you look through the whole frontline you can level it at us all.

"But that has been the case since August and I don't think those out there are any better."

Earlier this afternoon Chelsea boss Frank Lampard ruled out a loan exit for Giroud despite interest from Lazio and Inter Milan in Serie A.

Chelsea have had their own problems on finding a striker and the Frenchman has been told to stay at Stamford Bridge.
