Manchester United's Donny van de Beek continues to be the subject of transfer speculation.
Newcastle United, Everton and Wolves have all been credited with an interest in Van de Beek ahead of the re-opening of the transfer window in January.
On the fringes at Old Trafford, Van de Beek can hardly get a kick despite being brought in from Ajax last year for £35 million with high expectations.
It looks increasingly likely that Van de Beek will seek a move away in January to get his career back up and running having managed a grand total of 64 minutes across the Champions League and Premier League this season.
Of the teams that are able to foot the bill for the player's wages and are not a direct threat to the Red Devils ' hopes of finishing in the Champions League places, Newcastle may find themselves top of the list.
Taken over by a Saudi Arabia-backed consortium last month, Newcastle now have the wealthiest owners in football and a newly-appointed manager in Eddie Howe who likes to play football on the front foot.
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come in for criticism from former United players for his handling of Van de Beek, with Dimitar Berbatov using the Dutch playmaker as an example for his old side to avoid with summer signing Jadon Sancho.
It's a big talking point at United with the club struggling on the pitch and Van de Beek is being presented as a potential option for Solskjaer with his forwards misfiring.
At this stage a move away looks the best option for all parties with the 24 year-old needing to reinvigorate his career.
And Newcastle fans hope it's with them.
