Newcastle pub gets into Halloween spirit early with spooky transformation

There is still nearly a month to go until Halloween but if you pay a visit to a certain Tyneside boozer this weekend you'd be forgiven for thinking it was very nearly upon us.

While many of us are still to make any plans for Halloween , let alone starting to think about a costume, The Wheatsheaf in Benton Square has already had a spooktacular transformation.

Cobwebs have now appeared above and around the bar area and regulars have been joined by some rather menacing characters who have now appeared in the pub.

Pumpkins and hay bales are part of the furniture while warning signs have also been put up - keep an eye out for zombies who might have had one too many!

It's only right that The Wheatsheaf looks the part this Halloween as it has a number of events lined up to guarantee a hell raising time of things this year.

On Saturday, October 26 the pub will host a Killer Queen Monster Ball with killer karaoke, devils disco, food served until late, drinks offers and a best dressed competition.

And then on Wednesday, October 30 there will be a Kids Halloween Party with disco, party games and a fancy dress competition. The event will run from 6 - 9.30pm and wristbands for the night can be picked up from the bar.
