Newcastle Pride security - what you can and can't take in to this year's event

This summer is whizzing by and no sooner than we've had Plate Day and The Hoppings, another of Newcastle's big annual events is set to return in serious style.

Newcastle Pride , or Northern Pride as its officially known, is taking over the Town Moor and Exhibition Park as it goes big for 2019.

Once the huge Pride parade has made its way through the city centre, there will be a number of different zones at Newcastle Pride and the features Fleur East and Liberty X.

The also features Saara Aalto and the featuring Boulevard.

And the Be Scene Zone will be open and packed full of dance and cabaret across the weekend.

If you are going there a number of rules to be sure of, with regard to food and drink and what you can and can't take into Newcastle Pride 2019

Here they are...

Food and drink

You can bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks, but this will only be permitted in The Community Village.

You may bring a non-alcoholic beverage to the Festival Arena but MUST be contained in a sealed plastic bottle and at a quantity of one per person.

If you bring an opened bottle to the entrance, this will be removed upon bag search.

There will be plenty of food and drinks vendors located across the festival.

Don't take bring any alcoholic beverages, or glass bottles to the festival, as the security team will remove these.

Bags

Anyone with a large bag on site may be subject to a bag search by the security team or police.

Bag searches will take place across both The Community Village and The Festival Arena.

Organisers recommend that you bring a small bag to carry the essentials only. Avoid large handbags or back packs.

Chairs

Only allow folding camp chairs on site. These are the chairs that fold inward by all four legs.

Traditional deck chairs aren't allowed. You'll also not be able to bring any folding tables, parasols, or any other furniture on site.

Avoid putting your chair in any area that could cause a risk to you or anyone else at the festival, this includes in any enclosed area.

Pets

The only animals allowed on site are dogs. You can bring them along for the weekend, but only in open spaces, you won't get access to any enclosed space with a dog by your side and they must be on leads.

Enclosed spaces include but are not limited too, any marquees, Platinum Bar & Garden, Health & Wellbeing Zone.

If you need a dog to support you with a disability, email info@npride.org.uk.
