Newcastle Pride act Saara Aalto can't wait for main stage performance

This year's Newcastle Pride will definitely have the X Factor thanks to one of the acts near the top of the bill.

Joining fellow X Factor star Fleur East on the is Saara Aalto, who continued her success on TV talent shows by reaching the final of Dancing on Ice earlier this year.

And now Finnish singer Saara, who also represented her country in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, is all set to return to Newcastle for the first time since The X Factor 2017 live tour to perform on the Manchester Airport Los Angeles main stage for Newcastle Pride.

Saara released her album Wild Wild Wonderland to great acclaim last year, with a wide variety of both upbeat and heartfelt tracks ideally suited to Pride celebrations and speaking to Chronicle Live, Saara said she can't wait to get out there.

"I've always been a big fan of flamboyant music and I like recording it too!

"A lot of people said to me when I brought out the album that there were songs on it that were perfect for Pride and I've been looking forward to this summer to get out there and perform them for everyone!"

Teasing what the Newcastle Pride audience can expect from her this weekend, Saara said "If they saw me on X Factor or Eurovision, people will know I just love to perform.

"I love to tell the stories of my songs on stage and I'm always touched when fans get in touch to say they really connected with the messages behind the lyrics.

"I feel especially blessed to have the opportunity to play Pride events as they mean so much to me."
