Newcastle loanee Danny Rose continues his generous donation spree

Newcastle United loanee Danny Rose has continued on his charitable spree amid the coronavirus lockdown by donating £10,000 to two domestic abuse charities.

Rose had already donated £19,000 to the North Middlesex University hospital to help the fight against COVID-19 , and has now moved to fund charities SafeLives and Chayn.

In a video message, Rose said: "If you're worried about a neighbour or a friend being abused, if you're a child worried about your parents, I hope you know that response services will still come out.

"There are still people out there wanting to help."

Rose's donation has been welcomed by the founder of Chayn, Hera Hussain, who said: 'This is a great example of someone with the resources and profile like Danny using their power to uplift others. "

With people in lockdown, there is a concern for those who suffer from domestic abuse - with the UK's largest domestic abuse charity Refuge reporting a 120 per-cent in calls last weekend.

If you need to reach out, you can call Refuge's Freephone 24-Hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline: 0808 2000 247.
