Newcastle job advert reveals 'talented individuals' bid to deliver club's 'ambitious plans'

Newcastle United are recruiting 'talented individuals' to help the club deliver on its 'ambitious plans'.

Newcastle have advertised for a number of new positions in recent months, including a legal counsel, assistant team doctor and nutritionist, in an effort to beef up a host of different departments across the club that have long needed additional support.

Paul Catterson, the club's head of medicine, previously told ChronicleLive that he can now 'get the best in class' under the new owners while former head physiotherapist Derek Wright added that he felt like a 'kid in a sweet shop' after the takeover was completed because he could finally get the 'staffing level that the lads deserve' following the 'limbo' years under Mike Ashley.

The Magpies are now searching for a commercial partnerships manager and marketing manager and both adverts opened with the following statement: 'This is an exciting time at Newcastle United and we are looking for talented individuals to help us on our journey. To help us deliver on our ambitious plans....'

There have been a number of new starters since the club's new owners came in last year. Eddie Howe, for one, was able to bring four members of staff with him in assistant Jason Tindall, first-team coaches Stephen Purches and Simon Weatherstone, and head of performance Dan Hodges after taking charge in November. Coach analyst Mark Leyland, head of technical scouting Andy Howe and lead sports scientist Liam Mason are among those who have joined the club since then.

The club, as previously mentioned, are also bringing in a full-time nutritionist and this feels like a step forward in itself as, in Howe's own words, the 'margins between success and failure are so small'.

"We need to produce a higher level of everything right across the board for the players," the Newcastle boss previously told reporters. "We need to give them every tool that they need to produce their best performances on a consistent basis so whatever area of the club that is, whether it is analysis, food or sleep, we need to try and educate the players as best we can.

"You will only do that with the best staff. I don't quite know what areas we will be looking to improve our product in but, certainly, that quest will never cease for me. It's always about trying to help the players in any way that we can."
