Newcastle Ice Bar video tour reveals icy world of New York

Visitors to the new Ice Bar in Newcastle this weekend will be able to take a (cold) seat on the famous Friends sofa and look out at the New York skyline while enjoying a drink in a frozen glass.

They will also have a view of the Statue of Liberty and might even find themselves staring King Kong in the face.

The Grey Goose Ice Bar has now opened its doors inside Stack in Pilgrim Street and ahead of its first weekend, The Chronicle was invited to take a tour of the ice interior which features a range of those ice sculptures, all with a New York theme.

Made by Glacial Art, the company behind the ice sculptures on the set of Game of Thrones as well as those for Durham's Fire & Ice festival, the sculptures will last in the bar's sub-zero temperatures until the pop-up bar closes on March 22.

It opening hours are 11am- 11pm on Friday to Sunday and 1pm-11pm for the rest of the week. For more information on how to book see here.
