Newcastle forced into reshuffle as youth team goalkeeper Will Brown in the squad

Newcastle United named 18-year-old youth team goalkeeper Will Brown in their squad for the clash against West Bromwich Albion.

The Academy product warmed up at St James' Park ahead of the Premier League encounter along with Karl Darlow and 6ft 7in stopper Dan Langley who took a place on the bench.

Brown was used as back-up in case of any injuries or drop outs in the warm-up period on Saturday afternoon.

Brown has been a regular in the Under-23 side this season and has made three appearances in Premier League 2 as well as playing twice in the Papa John's Trophy.

Wearing squad number 53, the stopper was called up for first team duty while his reserve team colleague Oliver Marshall played for the Under-23s last night.

Marshall pulled off some big stops against Stoke City and helped them secure an important 3-2 win at Whitley Park.

Mark Gillespie was absent against West Brom with Martin Dubravka still two weeks away from a comeback after a summer knee injury.
