Former Newcastle United striker Demba Ba believes Eddie Howe will prove to be a great appointment at the Magpies given his record at Bournemouth.
Howe was handed the reigns at St. James’ Park last month and has had a decent, if not spectacular, start to life in the Northeast with one victory in his first five matches in charge.
It was his two separate spells at Bournemouth that has earned him his plaudits as a manager, guiding them to the Premier League for the first time.

During his first stint at the club, he earned them promotion from League Two, before departing for Burnley in 2011.
Howe, though, did not spend long at the Clarets before returning back to the South Coast to continue what he had started.
In the space of just three years, he took them from League One to the Premier League and, perhaps, more impressively kept them in the top-flight for five consecutive seasons.
Via quotes from The i, Ba, who has aspirations of his own to one day become the sporting director at a football club, was discussing the quality of Howe’s management skills with Ralf Rangnick on a recent visit to Lokomotiv Moscow, who was in the running for Newcastle’s sporting director role prior to his arrival at Manchester United.
He claimed that the Magpies boss is highly thought of by the Russian club and questioned whether there would be many other managers across the world who could achieve what he did at Bournemouth.
He said: “The big clubs in England can be beaten, but not by attacking them where their strength lies” – and Newcastle’s new coach Eddie Howe. “Lokomotiv Moscow loved his profile as a coach. Would the top five coaches in the world be able to do what he did at Bournemouth?”
