Newcastle fans make drastic plans for Arsenal season opener as Ayoze Perez departs for Leicester

Newcastle fans are ready to show their displeasure at owner Mike Ashley in the Premier League season opener against Arsenal on 11th August.

Ashely is not a popular figure among the Geordie fan base, having failed to invest significantly in the club over the past few seasons.

The relationship soured when no deal was able to be released with popular manager Rafa Benitez, meaning that the Spaniard left the club at the expiry of his contract on July 1st.

Fans were tipped over the edge when news broke on Tuesday evening that attacker Ayoze Perez was close to sealing a £30m switch to Premier League rivals Leicester City.

Perez was one of Newcastle's most dangerous attacking players last season scoring 12 goals and providing a further two assists in his 37 league appearances.

The news led to many fans insisting that the only way to get the message to their chairman that they're not happy is to not pay the entrance fee for the games, thus hitting the businessman where it hurts most - his pockets.

Newcastle's opening game of the Premier League season is a home clash against Arsenal, where protests against the current owner will be expected from Magpies' fans.

With Arsenal fans also not happy with their owner Stan kroenke, the tensions between fans and chairman could make for an interesting afternoon at St James' Park.

Here is how some Newcastle fans reacted to the news of Perez's move to the midlands.
