Newcastle fans give brutal Fraser verdict as Magpies urged to make Lascelles and Manquillo decision

Ryan Fraser looks certain to leave Newcastle United this summer after being frozen out of the senior squad by Eddie Howe. The wantaway winger finished last season with the under-21s, and has been mentioned as a potential makeweight in a move for Southampton full-back Tino Livramento.

The Toon Army have not consistently seen the best of Fraser since the former Bournemouth star arrived on a free transfer ahead of the 2020/21 season. The Scotland international contributed just three goals and six assists in 59 appearances in black-and-white, and his last outing coming as a substitute in the home victory over Everton in October.

Newcastle under-21s boss Ben Dawson hailed Fraser's impact with the academy side, with the 29-year-old scoring in a 4-3 victory over Norwich City. However, the Toon Army have issued a damning verdict when it came to the question over whether the club should keep the winger at the club.

Thousands of Newcastle fans participated in our latest 'Keep or Sell' survey, and the result when it came to Fraser was very clear. With more than 34,000 votes cast, less than 13% of supporters believe the free signing from September 2020 has a role to play in the new season.

The call on Fraser was the most decisive on our survey, with the fans also giving their verdicts on the likes of Jamaal Lascelles and Javier Manquillo. The Newcastle captain has entered the final year of his contract at St James' Park, and he made just 11 appearances in all competitions last season and only two Premier League starts.

Luton Town are among the clubs linked with Lascelles, and the Toon Army believes the club should look to move the 29-year-old on this summer. More than 35,000 fans responded to the question, and a little over 70% of responses opted for Lascelles to be sold.

Manquillo is another defender who struggled for minutes last season, and reports over the likes of Tino Livramento and a possible signing at left-back suggests an exit is on the cards. The former Atletico Madrid and Liverpool full-back is attracting attention from England and abroad, according to a recent report in Spanish outlet Marca.

Like Lascelles, Manquillo has also entered the final year of his contract and would likely only bring in a nominal transfer fee at most. With just shy of 35,000 responses on the survey, only 28% of supporters would like to see the defender remain at the club in the new season.
