Newcastle United held Liverpool to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday evening as they closed off 2020 with a spirited display.
After a bruising couple of weeks for Steve Bruce, his side produced a positive response against the Premier League champions at St James' Park.
The Magpies showed much more intent on the ball while they were also resolute at the back as they became the first side since June not to concede against Jurgen Klopp's side.
Their performance earned plenty of praise, not least by pundits, but also from Mike Ashley's takeover lawyer Nick De Marco.
De Marco, of course, has been instructed by lawyers acting on behalf of the Newcastle owner to look at the Premier League's conduct around the takeover process after the Magpies' tycoon cried foul in September.
His Twitter activity has often got Newcastle fans excited and that was the case again tonight as he praised United's determined display.
De Marco tweeted: "Great result for NUFC to gain a point from League champions!"
His tweet gained plenty of traction among Newcastle fans with 'Geordie Down Under replying: "Hopefully you can deliver the result we're all after too mate."
While NUFC Jacko added: "Waiting for a better result from yourself."
Hailed as the Lionel Messi of sports law, De Marco was part of the team that appealed to the EFL arbitration panel on behalf of Sheffield Wednesday over their 12 point penalty, imposed for breaching spending regulations.
The Owls's penalty was reduced to six points back in November and Magpies fans will hope he can deliver a similar turnaround in the club's case against the Premier League.
