Newcastle fans are loving Allan Saint-Maximin's dig at Sunderland

Allan Saint-Maximin won more Newcastle United hearts on social media as he took a jab at a Sunderland fan on Twitter.

Saint-Maximin has been a match winner on the field but aso plays social media perfectly.

And on Saturday night he earned more 'likes' by quote tweeting a Sunderland fan who had posted a video with a chant about the Black Cats going up while Newcastle were going down.

In reply he posted a viral video of a TV host laughing - mocking the idea that the two teams were heading for a reunion in the Championship next year.

Newcastle's upturn in form has coincided with Sunderland losing three in the bounce to hit their automatic promotion hopes.

It didn't take long for the Sunderland chant video to disappear, but it racked up more than 200 likes before that happened - prompting Saint-Maximin to write: "he deleted that’s not fair at all!"

It's not the first time Saint-Maximin has mocked Newcastle's local rivals: just last month he

Saint-Maximin was a match winner at Burnley and drove the Magpies forward on Saturday, bewitching the West Ham defence before Issa Diop's own goal.

Steve Bruce revealed afterwards that he had injured his ankle.
