Newcastle fans all say the same thing as Magpies make Eddie Howe announcement ahead of Arsenal

Newcastle United fans have expressed their delight at the news that Eddie Howe will be in the dugout for Saturday's encounter at Arsenal.

The new Magpies head coach was unable to attend St James' Park for last weekend's draw against Brentford following a late positive Covid-19 test.

Graeme Jones and Jason Tindall led the side in Howe's absence, and were expected by many to deputise once again at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.

However, Newcastle confirmed on Friday morning that the Magpies boss had returned a negative Covid-19 test and will be able to travel down with the squad to the capital.

Tindall had previously told reporters: "You want your leader and your manager here with you.

"We have missed him as a group of staff and the players missed him on the grass and on the sidelines.

"We are looking forward to having him back and the sooner we can have him back the better, I am sure the fans want him on the touchline."

It was an announcement that was met with universal acclaim from jubilant Magpies supporters ahead of what will likely prove to be a tricky test at Arsenal.

Here is how Newcastle United fans reacted to the club's update confirming Howe will be in the dugout for the clash at the Emirates Stadium.

'Fantastic news'

'Get in!'

'Howe-ay the lads'

'Let's go'

'May actually put up a fight'

'Prayers have been answered'

'Siuuuu'
