Newcastle fans all say the same thing as Ainsley Maitland-Niles sends Arsenal transfer message

Newcastle United fans have urged the club to consider a move for Ainsley Maitland-Niles following the Arsenal star's social-media plea.

The England international has struggled to earn a regular starting spot under Mikel Arteta, and spent the second-half of last season on loan at West Brom.

United were linked with a move for the 24-year-old in the mid-season window, with Steve Bruce ultimately securing a loan deal for Gunners' team-mate Joe Willock.

Maitland-Niles' first Premier League appearance of the season came as a substitute in the 5-0 loss at Manchester City on Saturday, and he was also used from the bench in the midweek Carabao Cup win at West Brom.

Everton are reportedly keen on sealing a deal for the versatile midfielder before the window shuts on Tuesday night, but Arsenal are currently unwilling to sanction his exit.

Maitland-Niles took to social media to express his frustration, posting "all I wanna do is go where I'm wanted and where I'm gonna play" on Instagram on Monday.

Bruce has played down expectations of further permanent arrivals at St James' Park, describing the club as breaking all of their 'transfer rules' to sign Willock on a permanent basis.

However, the Magpies head coach has spoken of the possibility of a loan deal, with a host of Premier League defenders and midfielders linked.

Maitland-Niles is capable of playing as both a full-back and in central midfield, and his latest post has led Newcastle fans to urge the club to act.

Here is how Newcastle United fans reacted to the Arsenal midfielder's post on social media:

'All over this'

'Cracking player'

'Good working relationship'

'Pull your fingers out'

'Why aren't we going for him?'
