Newcastle Falcons director Mick Hogan out of hospital after going in with breathing difficulties

A Newcastle Falcons executive director is now out of hospital after being admitted with breathing problems.

Mick Hogan was admitted to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, in Cramlington, towards the end of March after he was struggling with his breathing. At one stage, he was put on oxygen.

However, he has since made a recovery and has announced he is out of hospital and back home.

He says he was also able to take a walk along Longsands beach in Tynemouth on Friday.

In a message to his Twitter followers, he said: "Finally got out for a stroll after two and a half weeks of isolation/hospitalisation. So lucky to have Longsands on my front door.

"Even though it was freezing, it was reassuring to see Geordie kids down here in T-shirts!"

Mr Hogan was awaiting test results to see if he had contracted coronavirus or not. He has also previously thanked all NHS staff for their care and described them as "brilliant".

Now his well-wishers have said they are pleased he is back home.

One wrote: "Glad you're home and through the worst of it Mick. Take care mate."

Another added: "Glad to see you back on your feet, Mick."

And one message read: "Great to see/hear you are out and recovering Mick, need you at the helm for the ‘Big One’ when our glorious sport returns next season. #rugbybackatStJames"
