Newcastle face midfielder competition, Man Utd triple swoop, Liverpool man wanted - transfer rumours

Here's your round-up of all the latest Premier League rumours for Sunday, October 4.

Midfielder competition

Newcastle United are facing competition from Southampton for Nice midfielder Wylan Cyprien, according to reports.

The Magpies have previously been linked with a move for the 25-year-old.

Now it is being reported that Southampton are keen on a loan move for Cyprien, though Nice are said to want an obligation to buy at the end of the deal.

The Saints have also been weighing up a loan bid for Chelsea's Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce has revealed he expects to get at least one piece of incoming business done before Monday's transfer deadline.

The Magpies look to be closing in on the signing of Peruvian youngster Rodrigo Vilca.

Bruce stated he expects no major cash signings on deadline day but says that loans are still possible depending on outgoing deals, with Christian Atsu, wanted by Watford, Henri Saivet, Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar all in the exit zone.

Man United make their move

Manchester United could make at least three signings before Monday's transfer deadline.

Man United are closing in on 33-year-old striker Edinson Cavani, who is a free agent after leaving previous club Paris Saint-Germain.

They have also made an improved bid of £15.4million for Porto left-back Alex Telles, according to reports.

And talkSPORT say that the Red Devils are also set to land teenage winger Facundo Pellistri from Uruguayan side Penarol.

Man United have apparently activated a £10m release clause in the 18-year-old contract.

Leeds close in on winger

Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Rennes winger Raphinha.

According to The Mirror, the deal could be worth just over £20million - a £15.2m initial fee plus £5.4m in add-ons.

Raphinha scored five goals and contributed three assists last season in 22 Ligue 1 appearances for Rennes.

The 23-year-old Brazilian has emerged as a target after Leeds' hopes of landing Daniel James from Manchester United were dashed.

Leeds have also been linked with a move for Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell.

Liverpool man wanted

Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic is reportedly wanted by West Ham United and Southampton.

Both clubs are interested in taking the 24-year-old on loan, according to the Daily Mail.

Grujic has spent the last two seasons on loan at Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.

He played in Liverpool's recent Carabao Cup tie against Lincoln and Arsenal - but looks unlikely to figure in Jurgen Klopp's first-team plans on a regular basis.

West Ham and Southampton are also said to be keen on Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek if he is made available.

Gunners eye Chelsea midfielder

Arsenal remain interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, according to Sky Sports.

The Gunners have been linked with Lyon’s Houssem Aouar but reports from France suggest a deal will not be done in this transfer window.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is another Arsenal target - but Jorginho has emerged as another possible option.

Meanwhile, Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is in Madrid to complete his loan move to Atletico.
