Newcastle hope to make a midfielder signing next week - with the Joe Willock situation starting to frustate power brokers.

The Willock situation remains "uncertain", with Arsenal sources insisting the player is available but Newcastle yet to receive a reply to both loan and cash bids.

The player indicated he was keen earlier in the summer - and even went as far as liking a social media post suggesting he would leave Arsenal on Friday. But the deal is shrouded in uncertainty.

Norwich report

Accounts released

Newcastle United Football Club Limited have revealed the financial fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic in the annual accounts for the year ending July, 31, 2020.

The Magpies made an overall loss of £22.5million during the year, which reflects on the first wave of the coronavirus outbreak.

Newcastl e's turnover was drastically hit following the outbreak of Coronavirus resulting in a turnover of over of £153million, down from £176.4million the year prior.
