Eddie Howe has revealed that his players were not 'jumping up and down' after Newcastle United's win against Brentford because they know there is still a 'long way to go'.
Newcastle leapfrogged Brentford into 14th place following a 2-0 win against the Bees in London on Saturday.
Although Josh Dasilva's 11th-minute red card changed the game, crucially, Newcastle took full advantage and goals from Joelinton and Joe Willock effectively sealed the victory before half-time.

Newcastle moved four points clear of the relegation zone with the win and the Magpies have now gone seven games unbeaten in the top-flight for the first time since 2011.
To put that turnaround under Eddie Howe into perspective, Newcastle were 12 points behind Brentford at one point last month after only winning one game all season, but the black-and-whites have now moved above the struggling Bees in the table following a run of four victories in their last five games.
However, although the players posed for a team photo with staff after the game, they were certainly not getting carried away as there is still a third of the campaign left to play.
"The changing room afterwards wasn't what you might imagine," Howe told reporters on Zoom.
"The lads were pleasantly content, but they weren't jumping up and down and overreacting.
"That's why I want to compliment them on their reactions to both positive and negative situations because that is really a true test of your character.
"The guys are pleased and that creates a good feeling, and there's no sense that we have achieved our goal yet so the players are well-aware there is a long way to go."
