Newcastle DJ Michael Walls celebrates as his song is played on Love Island

Newcastle-based DJ Michael Walls is celebrating after his new single was played on Love Island.

The ITV2 show is nearing the end of its latest series, with the final set down for Monday, August 23 and, as well as millions tuning in to each new episode to get their daily slice of villa action, viewers have also been enjoying some top tier tunes over the last two months.

Songs from the likes of Joel Corry, Jonas Blue, Becky Hill, Jonas Brothers and Ed Sheeran have all been used to soundtrack Love Island this year, with chart star Mabel even jetting over to Majorca to perform hits like Don't Call Me Up and Let Them Know in the villa.

And now DJ and producer Michael, a regular at Newcastle night spots like Bijoux and Beach Box, has joined the growing list of acts to have their songs used on the famous ITV2 dating show.

Michael's song Fallin', which was released in July, was used during Friday's show as couples like Liberty and Jake, Faye and Teddy and Millie and Liam woke up to another day in the villa.

Sharing the clip on his Instagram page, Michael wrote: "Great to see Fallin’ getting played on @loveisland on Friday night.

"Big thanks to everyone who sent me clips / messages, keep streaming & supporting."

Last year Michael performed a DJ set in the Geordie Shore house and has also DJ'ed across the world in the likes of Marbella, Tenerife and Ayia Napa.

Fallin' was used during a rather dramatic episode of Love Island where Liberty aired further concerns about Jake 'playing up to the cameras,' after the two finished top of a public vote on the 'most one sided relationship' in the villa.

And it ended with a teaser for Sunday's show which showed the girls voicing their doubts on him to Liberty.
