Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has delivered some mixed injury news ahead of his side's clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
Bruce confirmed in his pre-match press conference that both Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson are back in training, but one has more chance of appearing against Jose Mourinho's side than the other.
Saint-Maximin missed the final three games before the international break with a groin injury, while Wilson has been out of action with a hamstring problem since the beginning of February.
And, unsurprisingly, it is the latter who could be back in the squad to face Spurs as Sunday's clash at St James' Park is set to come too soon for the 10-goal striker.
"Allan is more advanced than Callum is," Bruce said as per the Chronicle."He took part in a big session 48 hours ago, we hope he is a bit more advanced than Callum.
"We hope can play some part. We've had a little bit of time."
When asked whether Saint-Maximin will play a part, Bruce said: "He could be.
"He came through a big session, and we have two more days. We hope he can play some part."
However, Bruce was less confident regarding Wilson's chances of a return.
"I wouldn't have thought so," he said. "There's still a couple of training sessions to come but next week might be realistic (against Burnley)."
Bruce did confirm a major blow ahead of the Tottenham clash with the news that Isaac Hayden will not only miss the visit of the north London side, but he won't play again this season.
"We have lost Isaac, that has been the cruel side, we have been unfortunate," Bruce added.
"Isaac didn't need an operation but he won't play the rest of the season."
