Newcastle could have found "solution" to Yoshinori Muto problem with £54,000 per week off wage bill

Yoshinori Muto could be on the verge of leaving Newcastle United for good after talks with Aris Salonika.

Steve Bruce stated on Friday night at Doncaster that the Magpies were trying to "find a solution" for the striker that hasn't been a success on Tyneside.

Indeed, Muto has scored just twice since arriving to Newcastle from Mainz 05 in 2018.

And he has managed just seven starts after the move cost Newcastle £11.5million.

Picking up wages of £54,000 per week have also drained the club's salary budget meaning Bruce will at least get the chance to plough some funds back into his transfer kitty.

Muto may have been sold already had Eibar not been relegated from La Liga last season.

The 29-year-old was keen on a permanent move to Spain but will now aim for pastures new in Greece.

Full details of his fee are yet to emerge but Muto looks to be following Florian Lejeune and Ellias Sorensen out of the door at St James' Park.
