Newcastle complete Jetro Willems signing: All the details as long-term target signs on loan

Newcastle United have confirmed the arrival of Jetro Willems on a season long loan from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Magpies have an option to buy the left-back at the end of the current campaign.

Willems has been on United’s radar for around five seasons but finally gets the chance to pull on a Newcastle shirt and will provide competition for Paul Dummett.

Head coach Steve Bruce: Head coach Steve Bruce said: “Jetro brings a wealth of experience into the dressing room and I’m very pleased to have brought him here.

“He has played at the highest level and is naturally left-footed so he’ll give us another strong option on that side.”

A United statement read: “The 25-year-old left-back joins the club for the 2019/20 season and the Magpies will have the option of making the move permanent at the end of the campaign.”

The club are also on the verge of confirming a move for Allan Saint-Maximin, the Nice winger. He has agreed a long-term deal after Newcastle reached an agreement with the Ligue 1 club as the Magpies’ summer business finally gets rolling.
