Newcastle club Riverside transforms outdoor area into huge beer garden

A Newcastle club has been busy transforming its outdoor area into a big beer garden, right on cue for a change in temperatures this week.

A number of new al fresco drinking spaces have popped up in the city since the re-opening of pubs last weekend with Jesmond Beach Box now fully up and running near The Holy Hobo and Market Shaker extending its existing outdoor space into a beer garden.

And now it's all down on the Quayside at Riverside as staff at the popular club and gig venue have been hard at work turning the outside space at the rear of the massive building, formerly Sea, into a beer garden for Geordie revellers to enjoy.

The fruits of their labour were revealed on social media on Saturday, when Riverside posted: "Introducing the Riverside Beer Garden!!! We’ve transformed our outdoor space into a social distanced area for food and drinks.

"Have a pop along and grab a table or fire pit!"

The area looks way bigger than it normally does and is now home to a number of tables and benches and horse boxes serving different refreshments, from cocktails to cheese toasties.

The best beer gardens in Newcastle

Entry is free and, just like other beer gardens around Newcastle, social distancing is in place.

The Riverside Beer Garden will be open until 10pm every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
