Newcastle club promoters to hit the catwalk for Prostate Cancer in sold out Mr (s) Empress contest

Some weaves will be snatched on Wednesday night as some well known faces from the world of Newcastle nightlife undergo a very radical makeover all in the name of charity.

Since starting three years ago in memory of Harry Costigan who passed away from prostate cancer, Mr (S) Empress has been one of the city's most talked about and most successful fundraising events.

To date it has raised in the region of £20,000 for Prostate Cancer UK and this year could well be a record breaker as a whole host of promoters from venues all over Newcastle drag up and strut their stuff in front of a sell out crowd at The Empress.

It was confetti cannons at dawn last year as everything from dollar bills to Hawaiian garlands were tossed out into the audience.

Winners on the night were Big Bad Robot who pipped Jaluminati at the post to steal the crown.

Both will be back for two rounds on The Empress catwalk tonight.

The list of contestants for this year is:

Voodoo : Iffy Alade & Conor Quinn

Jaluminati: Finley & Grundy

Shark Club: Nathan Marshall & Dan Bennett

Tiger Tiger: William Kallagher & Connor Anderson

Tup Tup: Alex Graham & Cal Christie

ELFRISKA: Connor Flanagan & Joshua Berry

Aveika : Golibe Ugoji & Nathan Hodgson

Loosedays: Charlie Hendo & Aaron Bamford

Empress : Jack Leightley & Nathan Lawton

House of Smith: Connor Graves & Gabriel Blackmore

The event is a complete sell out and there will be a raffle with a whole host of prizes up for grabs.

*If you can't be there tonight you can still make a donation to Prostate Cancer on The Empress' Justgiving page
