Newcastle close on £17m Allan Saint-Maximin transfer with Steve Bruce hoping for more

Newcastle United are set to sign Nice winger Allan Saint-Maximin - with hopes that more new faces are set to follow.

The Toon have agreed a £17million fee with the Ligue 1 side for the 22-year-old winger, having seen previous bids knocked back.

And Saint-Maximin has agreed personal terms on a six-year contract,

Newcastle managing director Lee Charnley has flown to the Cote d’Azur to close the deal.

Boss Steve Bruce confirmed the club’s interest in Saint-Maximin last week, stating: “It’s somebody we have identified and we will see what happens."

But he isn’t the only player on the verge of a move to St James’ Park.

With Bruce keen to strengthen a squad that has lost six players this summer, the Magpies are also on the verge of landing Paris Saint-Germain teenager Moussa Sissoko.

The 18-year-old defender has been told he can leave the French champions and Newcastle have held talks with his representatives.

A £2million deal is in the pipeline.

However a deal for another PSG youngster, Stanley N’Soki, is proving more difficult.

Newcastle have held talks over a possible £11million deal for the 20-year-old with the French champions.

According to local reports, N’Soki is keen for a deal to be sorted as soon as possible, because he wants to leave the Parc des Prince for greater first-team opportunities in 2019-20.
