IT is famed for its burgers but lately popular Newcastle West business Newy Burger Co is serving up far more.
A veteran fundraiser for community, the business has for years delivered large quantities of soup to local charity Soul Cafe to assist the most needy.
On Tuesday, it announced on its social media channels that while it was still able to trade, it would offer free takeaway packs of soup and bread for anyone who needed it.
The soup is available between 2pm and 5pm daily.

"No questions, no judgment, just a little kindness in this madness," the business said on its social channels.
NBC co-owner Ben Neil said his heart broke when one customer had come in with tears in her eyes and reluctantly asked for some soup.
He urged those in need to not feel embarrassed and to come and collect the soup. He also thanked Produce 365 for supplying the pumpkins for the pumpkin soup to his business at cost.
"As long as we can trade we will keep doing what we can to help others," he said.
