Newcastle boss Steve Bruce reveals a big injury concern ahead of Everton

Jamaal Lascelles is a doubt for Newcastle United's home clash with Everton.

The skipper limped off in the 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in last weekend's tie at Molineux.

Lascelles must now prove his fitness in the next 48 hours to have a chance of facing the Toffees at St James' Park.

Bruce, speaking at his Press conference, said: "We have one doubt with the captain. He has a foot injury but we have 48 hours to assess him."

Bruce revealed that both Sean and Matty Longstaff are back in contention for the encounter with Everton.

Sean came on as substitute at Wolves after missing out on the starting line-up while Matty is yet to kick a ball this season after signing a contract based on agreement that he would get a run in the side.

Isaac Hayden has also been declared fit after a hamstring injury. Bruce said: "We couldn't risk him last week."
