Newcastle bookmakers staff threatened with knife during armed robbery

Staff at a bookmakers in Newcastle were threatened with a knife during an alleged armed robbery which left the victim with fractured ribs and a broken clavicle.

The incident happened at William Hill, Two Ball Lonnen in the west end of Newcastle at around 7.10pm on Wednesday, May 12.

It's believed staff were threatened with a knife during the incident with police saying the victim suffered three fractured ribs and a broken clavicle.

Northumbria Police has since released an image of a man they would like to speak to who officers believe could help their investigation.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who knows the man is to get in touch with them.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "Do you recognise this man?

"We need to speak to him after staff at a bookmakers were threatened with a knife during an armed robbery in the west end of Newcastle.

"The victim suffered three fractured ribs and a broken clavicle and we are now appealing for your help to identify the man in this image.

"The man in this image was in the area when the offence took place and we believe he could assist our investigation.

"If you know who he is then please contact us through our website, or call 101, quoting log 1030 12/05/21."
