BEACH WATCH

Low pressure system is slowly moving to the south and another low is tracking behind but further out in coral sea. Conditions best during the morning as wind will start to swing more to the south during the afternoon. Swell a combination of East and South at 1.5m to 2.5m. Wind out of the West to S/W. Tides dropping to a mid-morning low and the better breaks are off south Bar, Cliff and Pogos shorebreak. Newcastle beach lacking banks and wrong direction for Merewether. Redhead, Frenchmans and Catho to the south. Fingal and One Mile up at Port Stephens. Sweeps are running to the south and best to swim in ocean bathes. Dangerous on the rocks and water temp 16 degrees. - Dave Anderson

Winds West to southwesterly 20 to 30 knots.

Seas 1.5 to 2.5 metres, increasing to 2 to 4 metres offshore. 1st Swell South to southwesterly 1.5 to 2.5 metres. 2nd Swell Easterly 1.5 to 2.5 metres, decreasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning.
