Surf may be cleaner for the morning but the smoke haze is expected to be around the coast again today. Light winds and more favourable variations in the tides not filling the breaks up as much. Swell from the south-east at around 1m. Wind light and variable north-west to north tending east during the afternoon.
Tides still low for the early suiting the banks off Newcastle Beach, South Bar, Cliff and Pogos. On high try Cowrie and Bar Reef. Redhead, Moonie and Catho to the south.
Boxy and Birubi up at Port Stephens. Southern corners starting to sand up and slight sweeps on run out tide. Water temperature 18C.- Dave Anderson
