Cleaner waves for today though not much of an increase and mainly shore breaks to be had. The morning's high will suit most beaches and a few of the inner reefs. Swell from the east to southeast at around 1m. Wind light northwest to west freshening east to northeast during afternoon. Incoming tide for the early and best to check Bar Beach, Cliff and Cowrie; tide runs out Merewether and Newcastle Beach; Redhead, Moonie and Fraser to the south; Fingal and Birubi up at Port Stephens. Clean and clear in for a swim and stay between the flags at patrolled beaches. Warmer current with water temp 19C. - Dave Anderson

Winds Variable about 10 knots becoming northeasterly 15 to 20 knots in the middle of the day then tending northerly in the evening, reaching 25 knots offshore. Seas Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 2 metres south of Port Stephens during the afternoon. 1st Swell Southerly 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing below 1 metre by evening. 2nd Swell Northeasterly around 1 metre, tending easterly 1 to 1.5 metres during the afternoon.
