BEACH WATCH

Similar condition to the last few days with a hazy start and a small wind-chop swell. Low tides on sun up and probably best time for a surf with slightly cleaner waves breaking on some of the outside banks. Swells around to the East at 1m. Wind light North before freshening from the N/E. Northern corners to handle the direction best and first up try Newcastle beach off the surf club, South Bar, Cliff and Pogos. Bar Reef on afternoon high. Redhead, Frenchmans and Fraser to the south. Birubi and Treachery to the north. Sweeps running to the southern corners which are sanding up. Listen out for lifeguards when swimming at patrolled beaches. Water temp 17C. - Dave Anderson

Winds North to northeasterly 20 to 30 knots.

Seas 2 to 3 metres.

Swell Northeasterly below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres south of Port Stephens during the morning.
