Change in swell direction though conditions set to continue small with freshening offshore winds during the afternoon. Early morning best for surf before wind gets up and while tide is low. Swell around to the south to S/E at around 1m. Wind north to N/W tending west. Clean waves but not too consistent as the the tide fills. Banks at south Bar and Cliff are popular. Try Cowrie and Bar Reef towards high tide. Small breaks at Dudley, Catho and Fraser. Buribi up at Port Stephens. Water is slightly cooler and still clean and clear in. Swim at patrolled beaches and water temp 16 degrees. - Dave Anderson
