BEACHWATCH
Surf is still on the small scale with just a few shorebreaks as beaches begin to form long gutters as they straighten and sand up. Offshore winds before sea breeze kicks in and better waves as the tide runs out.
Swell from the south-east to south at 0.5 to 1m. Wind north to north-west tending north-east. Morning's early high tide will affect the consistency. Best options are Newcastle Beach, Bar Reef and The Cliff shorebreak. Redhead, Frenchmans and Moonie to the south. Birubi up at Port Stephens.
Shallow banks on the shorebreaks with slight sweeps. Listen out for lifeguards instructions if going in for a swim.
Water temperature 18C.- Dave Anderson
