Onshore winds again on the forecasts and choppy slightly bigger set waves for today. Wind will be up early and few close out as the tide goes low late morning. May find better conditions on the afternoon high. Swell from East to S/E at 1.5m to 1.8m. Winds moderate South to S/E. Just enough tide early for the Cowrie Hole. Breaks off king rock at Newcastle Beach and shorebreaks at Pogos and Merewether. Dudley and Redhead to the south and One Mile and Fingal up at Port Stephens. Heavy shorebreaks have caused some beaches to close and sweeps in southern corners. Water temp 21 degrees. - Dave Anderson
