Offshore winds for today as the low pressure system deepens to the south. Small clean surf conditions as the swell won't increase by much till over the weekend. Swell from the South to S/E at 1m. Wind light to moderate West to N/W. Tides going low for the early and most beaches breaking. Try the banks at Newcastle Beach, South Bar, Dixon and off the rocks at Merewether. Burwood, Redhead and Moonie to the south. Box Beach and Birubi up at Port Stephens. Beaches sanding up and swim in flagged areas of patrolled Beaches. Water temp 21C. - Dave Anderson
