When you think of going out in the Bigg Market in the 70s, 80s 90s and 00s, there's one place that should immediately spring to mind to Geordies all over - The Pig & Whistle.
The cobbles of Coronation Street had nothing on the Bigg Market in its hey day and no stumble down them was complete without a visit to The Pig & Whistle.
Well if you still have fond memories of the place (that was technically more Cloth Market than Bigg Market!) no matter how hazy they are, you have a great opportunity to turn back the clock when current nightspot Idols/Vaults holds a night in The Pig & Whistle's honour.
Being billed as the biggest night the Bigg Market has ever seen, The Pig & Whistle Reunion is happening on Friday, July 28.
Revealing all about it on Facebook, Idols/Vaults posted "Friday 28th June 2019 we bring you the bounciest club night reunion you’ve ever seen!
"Remember the old Pig & Whistle? We’re bringing it back for one special reunion night.
"Kicking off the night we have our own, hands in the air, resident DJ Graeme Robertson throwing out all the belta tunes you know every week.
"The ICONIC Ikon DJ Jeff Scott hitting us with a taste of Ikon for one night only in IdolsVaults
"And to top it all off legendary Pig & Whistle Resident DJ Davey G taking us back to old skool Bigg Market!"
