Newcastle United are one of a host of European clubs to hold an interest in Lille striker Victor Osimhen - according to his agent.
The Nigerian forward is tipped for a move in the next transfer window following an impressive debut campaign in France.
Osimhen has bagged 13 goals in Ligue 1 so far, and recent reports have credited the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Napoli and Tottenham with moves for the 21-year-old.
The striker's representative Ariyo Igbayilola has confirmed the only club to firmly express an interest in the Nigerian international so far is Napoli.
However, he revealed that the Magpies are "in the race" alongside Tottenham for the 21-year-old's signature in the next window.
Igbayilola also raised doubt over the prospect of Osimhen remaining with Lille beyond the next transfer window.
He told Nigerian outlet The Cable : “I can confidently tell you that the only club that wants Victor 100% right now is Napoli.
“But the final decision on whether he wants to join them lies with him. Also, Newcastle are in the race just like Tottenham. But it’s just interest alone. No real sign of commitment from them.
“I think with the pressure from different clubs in Europe, I doubt if he will stay with Lille in the coming season.”
