Newcastle announce host of departures as part of Academy shake-up - including Toure and Indalecio

Newcastle United have released Yannick Toure, Florent Indalecio and Ludwig Francillette as part of an Academy shake-up this summer.

Toure, a Switzerland Under-20 international, arrived at the club in 2018 for a £250,000 fee but has been unable to force his way into the first-team picture.

Indalecio arrived on trial last year and had his contract extended until the end of the season but the friend of Allan Saint-Maximin has now left the club's youth set-up.

After leaving St Etienne as a youngster he was thrown another chance to revive his career but at 23 is free to find another club.

A slightly more surprising departure is Francillette after arriving two years ago and going on to captain the Under-23 side.

The 6ft 4in defender even made the bench in the FA Cup but the club have announced his release.

Academy product Owen Bailey has also departed the club at the end of his current contract.

Bailey was in the first-team squad in 2019 when Steve Bruce arrived and played in the Premier League's Asia Trophy but injuries have made life tough for the youngster.

Now fully fit he has interest from EFL clubs ahead of the summer window.

A Newcastle statement read: "Owen Bailey will leave the club this summer.

"The 22-year-old joined his hometown club at the age of seven and made his first team debut against Wolves in the Premier League Asia Trophy in July 2019.

"Also departing are Oliver Walters, Tom Midgley, Jude Swailes, Yannick Touré, Oliver Marshall, Ludwig Francillette, Florent Indalecio, Kyle Scott, George Rounsfell, Lucas Gamblin, Josh Gilchrist, Lewis Brannen, Josh Harrison and Tai Ebanks.

"The club would like to wish each of them the best of luck with their careers."

United have offered new deals to Dylan Stephenson and Lucas De Bolle after the pair starred in the FA Youth Cup.

Josh Scott, Nathan Carlyon and Joe Oliver also stay on while there were new deals for Mo Sangare, Adam Wilson, Ryan Barrett, Will Brown and Oisin McEntee.
