International real estate executive Morgan Parker has been named a director on the Newcastle Airport's board.
The Brisbane-raised Mr Parker said it was "an honour" to join the board at "the gateway to Australia's largest regional economy".
Newcastle Airport chief executive Dr Peter Cock said Mr Parker would provide the board with valuable knowledge and international experience.
"An experienced leader with a portfolio of non-executive board roles, Mr Parker will bring global knowledge and expertise to strengthen our business and drive further economic growth for our region," Dr Cock said.

He will be especially helpful in the development of Astra Aerolab in Newcastle, as it looks to become an internationally recognised centre for defence and aerospace innovation, Dr Cock said.
Mr Parker was attending Newcastle Airport's August board meeting on Friday.
