A handful of lucky travellers have a chance to beat the January blues with a city break to Munich.
Newcastle International Airport, Munich International Airport and Lufthansa are running a competition offering two winners the opportunity to each take nine friends on a city break to the German city.
The prizes are being run across the airport’s Instagram and Facebook channels to help celebrate the arrival of Lufthansa at Newcastle International Airport, with their new route to Munich starting next month.
The winners will be able to travel in style as they are fast tracked through airport security before boarding the first ever Lufthansa flight from Newcastle to Munich on February 3.
On board the flight, passengers will be treated to Lufthansa’s five star servicet.
Upon arrival, the winners will be able to explore all that the beautiful region of Bavaria has to offer, such as world-class museums, intriguing art galleries, stunning architecture and hundreds of beer gardens.
As part of the prize, they will also receive a two-night stay at one of the city’s hotels, provided by Munich Airport.

The competitions end at midnight on Sunday, January 12.
The new route to Munich will provide the North East with 130 onward connections throughout Europe and beyond six days a week.
