Boro had gone 2-0 up in the first-half with goals from George Saville and Britt Assombalonga before Newcastle turned things around.

United made eight changes throughout the second half with Yoshinori Muto pulling a goal back against Jonathan Woodgate’s side.

Miguel Almiron the beat the offside trap to level the game up before Joelinton struck the winning effort to seal a five-goal encounter.

Second half appearances from; Darlow, Almiron, Yedlin, Lejeune, Lascelles, Manquillo, ASM, Bentaleb and Joelinton.
