Three goals from Ayoze Perez has taken Newcastle United closer to Premier League survival.
It was a mixed display from United - a brilliant first half, and a poor second half - but a trio of goals from Perez clinched all three points.
Perez netted two goals in the first half - a drive from the right, and a latch on to a Salomon Rondon cross - as United played Southampton off the park.
United however we left shell-shocked as Southampton came out in the second half and turned the game around - scoring in the 59th minute through Mario Lemina.
With pressure building on United, Perez popped up to grab the third with four minutes left to send them up to twelve.
