Newcastle 1-3 Liverpool player ratings: Naby Keita shines again as Reds cap off season

Liverpool finished off their title-winning campaign with victory over Newcastle on the final day of the season.

Dwight Gayle had got the hosts off to the perfect start, scoring the quickest goal of the Premier League campaign after just 26 seconds.

The striker raced onto Jonjo Shelvey's quick free-kick before toe-poking the ball past Alisson.

Virgil van Dijk drew the Reds level before half-time, rising highest to head home Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's cross.

Liverpool then took the lead just before the hour as Divock Origi found the far corner with a fizzing effort from outside the box, before Sadio Mane curled in a stunning late goal to seal the win.

Here are the player ratings from St. James' Park.

Made a decent stop from Minamino's fierce effort.

Manquillo 5

Allowed Origi to cut inside him too easily for his goal.

Fernandez 6

Almost caught Alisson out with a hopeful effort. Booked.

Rose 5

Should have done better for Liverpool's equaliser. Let Oxlade-Chamberlain past too easily.

Left chasing shadows against Liverpool's midfield three.

Mopped up behind his back four well with little to do otherwise. Couldn't do much about the goal.

Struggled to make his mark but good experience for the youngster.

Gomez 6

Let Gayle drift in behind him which marred an otherwise assured display.

Oozed calm at the back and directed his headed equaliser home superbly.

Less energetic and more subdued than we've come to expect.

Milner 7

Kept Liverpool ticking and was constantly an option for his teammates.

Grew into the game on his old stomping ground.
