Newcastle United were much improved as they saw off West Ham to finish third in the Premier League’s Asia Trophy.
Yoshinori Muto swept home the only goal of the game as the Steve Bruce got off to a good start .
Newcastle showed more intensity and spirit as Bruce tinkered with the formation and system to help the team over the line. Here are Lee Ryder’s merit marks for the match.

A clean sheet and some good claims. Kept on his toes as Anderson hit the bar.

A steady half and ventured forward to send a shot over the bar.
